But seeing I'm nearly halfway with the maps, which is practically all I'm missing, I thought 'why not?'. Normally I never post anything about what I'm doing, a past fear of jinxing there. Here's what I've been working on the past two weeks: That looks great, Josh! I always had a thing for subways/cars in Wolf ever since I played Berlin Express way back - the last good thing on the subject was the mine carts in Spear Reloaded. #7: Re: What are you doing with Wolfenstein? Author: Thomas, Posted: Wed 10:09 pm Here's some teaser shots of a subway I don't mind revealing (Still in early stage of developing). AWESOME!!! lol I mean yeah it's dark, but Hell people bitch about Doom 3 and Doom 64 being too dark too, and I love those games. LinuxWolf, I wanna be the first to say THAT. #6: Re: What are you doing with Wolfenstein? Author: Soldat 555, Posted: Wed 9:48 pm Unfortunately the results were not bright enough to be playable, but here is the video proof of what I'm talking about: I wrote an OpenGL renderer for Wolf3D with advanced lighting pre-baked into the world. #5: Re: What are you doing with Wolfenstein? Author: linuxwolf, Posted: Wed 12:15 pm You had some funny feature teasers out way back. You know, it would be so funny to see you actually release a finished project. #4: Re: What are you doing with Wolfenstein? Author: Thomas, Posted: Wed 10:18 am I'll post the sprite splitting code if I ever find it, too, but it's pretty haphazardly done and I'm not sure I can even take it apart from the original sprite rendering routines. I have an old demo on this computer, but dicking around with it shows that it's missing some key features if I find a more up-to-date version then I'll post it. Naturally I stopped working on it, and I don't foresee ever finishing it, or even working on it again. I actually had the code neatly-written instead of duct taped together, and it had some cool features, like being able to render only the left or right side of a sprite (used for enemy deaths involving sharp objects). The last time I worked on anything was I think back in mid 2011, and it was some project that was going to focus on picking up random objects to fight with and on occasionally transforming into other characters to get past obstacles or enemies. Oh man, I could litter this thread with all the corpses of projects I've started and never finished, either out of disgust or just plain laziness. #3: guess this isn't exactly current Author: Dugtrio17, Location: Seattle Posted: Wed 9:31 am I think I'll aim to make one 16x16 map a day, and edit this post with picture links to them. #2: Re: What are you doing with Wolfenstein?
